Emyvale V Truagh Reserve Div 3.

Emyvale had a home game against Truagh in the Reserve League Division 3 on Friday, June 15th. It was a damp evening but that did not prevent these two teams from serving up tough and determined football. From very early Emyvale took control of the scoreboard but Truagh never gave up the effort to get back on terms. There were mistakes made on both sides but Truagh suffered most as a result. There were some excdellent performances on both sides but Truagh needed more fire power in the forward line to keep pace with the Emyvale scores. Emyvale could have put it beyond redemption had they not put ten shots wide of the posts in the first half alone. The wides came about mainly from good defensive work by the Truagh backs but their clearances were being picked up around the middle by the opposition. It was a tough game and no quarter was given by either side. However the interpretation of the rules led to frustration which in turn led to retaliation and some very hard, if not dangerous, tackles. In the end Emyvale were victors with a score of 3 - 17 to 1 - 3.
