DVD Launch for Emy Lake.

Donagh Development Association launched the new DVD of ‘Traditions and Scenes of Monaghan’ at a function in the Red Boys on Friday, Dec 2nd. Proceeds from the sale of the DVD will help to defray the costs associated with the construction of a walkway around Emy Lake. Work is almost complete on this project and it is going to provide a huge number of people with an excellent facility to walk in a picturesque and natural surrounding, away from the bustle and noise of modern life. This latest DVD contains some excellent footage of various events which have been held over recent years including horse racing, walks around the lake and music sessions in a number of locations. There is also a re-enactment of a Garda chase of a wild Honda 50 rider over some of the back roads of the north Monaghan area but the Law (Pat Deery) eventually gets its man (Ciaran Treanor Morris) and all live happily when the chase ends in the Red Boys. This is certainly a DVD for Christmas or indeed any time of year with plenty of music, song, laughter and scenery, and will be a fantastic present for any of our emigrants. At the launch a big number of people attended and a music session followed during which the DVD was launched to great applause as a showing had taken place.
