Monaghan V Tyrone in Dowd Cup.

This game was played in a very cold Tyholland on Sunday, January 22nd. The outcome did not matter too much as both teams had qualified for the final stages but the opposition would be decided by the result. Monaghan started slowly and allowed Tyrone to settle into the game much faster. However when Caoimhe Mohan scored the first of Monaghan’s three goals the Monaghan girls grew in confidence and began played good attacking football. The final score of 3 - 12 to Tyrone’s 1 - 7 reflected the play but there are problems there with accuracy in passing and shooting which need attention. They will now face Queens in the semi-final while Tyrone meets UUJ in the other semi, which should be played next weekend. Caoimhe Mohan and Ciara McAnespie pklayed very good games for Monaghan today and once the team got going had good support from a number of other players.
