EMYVALE
Ciaran Treanor’s 50th Birthday Party (or part of it).
50 years of age is a significant cause for celebration as one is half way there to
getting the big cheque from the President. Indeed it would be a good idea if one
could get half of it at 50 as a down payment. Anyway, believe it or not, Ciaran Treanor
(Morris) reached the golden year of 50 recently and his family organised a ‘surprise’
party in St. Mellans on Saturday, July 21st. Now Ciaran arrived in and all were waiting
for him and he showed his ‘surprise’ but I cannot believe that anything surprises
Ciaran. There was plenty of tasty food and good companions and then a local ‘dramatic
troupe’ performed a ‘Sketch’ recalling significant events in Ciaran’s life. I was
unable to wait for that but I did hear that I featured there someplace. The report
is that everyone had a great night as could be expected when Ciaran is about, and
I was told that Ciaran went home early as he had a very important MC job on Sunday
and he wanted to be at his best. We would like to wish Ciaran many happy returns
on this special occasion and we hope he is as fit and healthy after the next 50.
I noticed that no one was allowed to give him presents but a donation towards Truagh
Special Needs was acceptable. If you missed that bit you can still donate.
The Presentation
of €465, which was donated to Ciaran, was presented to the Special Needs Group by
Ciaran and Pauline on Thursday, July 26th and photo at bottom of the page here
