EMYVALE
Brigid McCrudden RIP.
It is with regret that we record the death of Brigid McCrudden, Knocknagrave, which
occurred last weekend. Brigid had been very active until recently when illness struck
and having spent a short while in Cavan Hospital she returned home where she was
attended to by her family members.
Her remains were removed to St. Patrick’s Corracrin
on Tuesday evening, January 31st and Requiem Mass was celebrated on Wednesday morning
at 11am after which burial took place in the family plot in the adjoining cemetery.
Chief celebrant was Fr. Macartan McQuaid while Fr. Owen Joe McEneaney, Fr. Sean Clerkin,
Fr. Noel McGaham, Fr. Tom Finnegan and Fr Joe Mullen were concelebrants. The huge
crowds who called to the house to sympathise and very large numbers attending the
removal and Requiem Mass are indicative of the great respect and esteem with which
Brigid was held in the local and wider communities. Members of her family were involved
in all aspects of the Liturgy and the local choir was joined by members of the Tydvanet
Choir.
To her immediate family - Kathleen, Josephine, Loretta, Rosetta, Rita, Patricia,
Michael, Ben, Noleen, Geraldine, Colm and Damien; to her in-laws; to her grandchildren
and great-grandchildren; to all her relatives and friends we offer our deepest sympathy.
Brigid
was a real lady and one who had lived and passed on a very strong faith. We have
published an audio of Fr. Macartan’s Homily as we feel it says what needs to be said
at the passing of such a wonderful person. I hope you can access it and the other
pieces of audio from the Requiem Mass.
