Learning Centre at 1pm. Freshly prepared three-course meal served, which includes
a choice of main course and dessert, followed by live music by Seamus McGirr. Bus
transport is available on request in the Truagh and Donagh areas for an extra €5.00
DATE FOR YOUR DIARY: Annual Christmas Party takes place Monday 11th December. Enjoy
a four course meal followed by music by Martin McGilly.
HOME MEAL DELIVERY SERVICE: We can arrange for a freshly cooked meal to be delivered
to your door in the Truagh Donagh area. This service is available on Mondays, Wednesdays

Free training opportunity for women in Truagh and the wider north Monaghan area.
This is open to all women between the age of 16 and 65 who are out of the workforce.
You can take part if you are on no payment whatsoever but also if you are on a payment
such as Carers Allowance, Disability Allowance, Farm Assist or One-Parent Family
payment. Classes will run 2 mornings a week in the Blackwater Valley Learning Centre
(dates to be confirmed). The programme will cover personal development and Health

Monaghan County Council PEACE IV Intergenerational Programme: the Project Officer
Mairead Mohan will be at the Blackwater Valley Learning Centre Dinner and Dance on
Monday 27th November. Some of the projects she will talk about include the railways,
film & drama and traditional crafts & skills. Mairead will be available to meet
people who would like to tell her stories about the railways or who would be interested
in doing a bit of acting.
New Support Service for Carers in North Monaghan Truagh Development Association is
now providing a Home Care Support Service in the North Monaghan area. This is a flexible
support service for full-time carers looking after a loved one and who would need
time to do personal errands. This confidential service is provided by our Homecare
Support Worker, Bronagh McConnell. This support service is provided at €15 per hour,

Blackwater Valley Learning Centre from 1pm to 4pm every Monday (except bank holidays).

OUTSIDE-CATERING SERVICES: Truagh Development Association’s Community Services Programme
offers an outside-catering service for all occasions where freshly prepared food
is delivered directly to your event. Communions, Confirmations, birthday parties
or celebrations, big or small, the Community Services Programme can look after all
your catering needs. We supply the food, glasses, crockery and cutlery and can also
serve it too if you wish, so you can relax and enjoy your special occasion and leave

BLACKWATER VALLEY SUPPORT & ADVICE CENTRE provides support to the over 55s in your
area. The services provided includes home visitation/befriending service, good morning
call service, community library service, message in a bottle, support and advice
on form filling, e.g. medical card and advice on crime prevention, keeping you safe
in your home. This service enables the over 55s to live independently in their community. Please
note our Community Support Workers will never visit your house unannounced, this
service is by appointment only.
