Each year McSorley's Pharmacy, Emyvale, organise an Art Competition for National
School pupils and the theme is always, naturally, some aspect of health and well-being
and 2018 they decided to name the theme - "a healthy lifestyle". The topic will cause
the pupils to think about the meaning and how it can be promoted before deciding
what art piece they will actually create. This makes them more conscious of their
health and how to remain healthy. As usual there was a very good response from the
pupils and last week the results were announced and the prizes presented. The overall
winner was Grace Murphy from 3rd class Edenmore National school and she received
a personal prize as well as €100 going for her school. The other winners were -
Caoimhe Kelly 5th class, Leah McMeel 2nd class, Cora McGarvey 4th class, Alannah
McAree 6th Class, Seánie Meehan junior infants, ( Edenmore National School); Ciara
Meehan 1st class, Harry McKenny senior Infants (St Patrick's National School, Clara).
Congratulations to all these winners and a big 'Well Done' to Grace on being the
overall winner. Our photos show Grace receiving her award, getting the cheque for
the school and all the winners. Photos taken with the winners include staff members,
Marie Therese McSorley, Kevin, May and Megan. Thanks to Roisin for the photos.
