Reeling Back the Years in Ardaghey.

On Wednesday, November 9th I attended the second performance of Reeling Back the Years in Ardaghey Community Centre. This was a look back at events in the community over the years from the ‘60s to the present time, culminating with the Ardaghey people being honoured by winning the National Title in The Pride of Place competition. The show was a terrific success and the huge number of performers, from young to the not so young, proved, if proof were needed, that there is a fantastic community spirit raging in Ardaghey. It was a wonderful night of entertainment with great music, great songs and singers, great dancing from ceili and sean nós to modern, great humour and comedy and great performances from everyone on stage and off. The script of this show also demonstrates that people can be entertained and people can enjoy a night out with good clean wit. Well done to all involved and it would be unfair of me to name anyone as there were so many and as the director told me - ‘this was a community team effort’.
